Overview

This will be an in person full day symposium that will focus on living donation for both Liver and Kidney. Living donation is an area where clinical practitioners require more information regarding treatment, legislative issues, as well as ethical concerns. This event will help to bridge the gap between transplant centers and clinical practitioners.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify the impact of living donation, as well as new innovations in living donor transplants.
  2. Describe barriers around living donation, and strategies to address and overcome those barriers.
  3. Discuss ongoing legislative challenges and related advocacy by patients and politicians.
  4. Review living donor protections in the State of Michigan.
