Overview
Multidisciplinary teaching designed to improve awareness and understanding of breast cancer, with a particular focus on triple-negative breast cancer. The activity addresses advances and clinical considerations in medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, genetics and heredity, social and cultural determinants of health, and breast cancer research relevant to patient care and treatment

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Understand new systemic therapy options for triple negative breast cancer, including neoadjuvant, adjuvant, and metastatic.
  2. Understand androgen receptors and androgen receptor function modifying agents in triple negative breast cancer.
  3. Identify unique aspects of surgery in triple negative breast cancer, including red flags, warning signs, and guideposts.
  4. Learn about plastic surgery options in triple negative breast cancer.
  5. Describe the similarities and differences of radiation in triple negative breast cancer.
  6. Understand the molecular landscape of triple negative disease, including markers and opportunities
  7. Understand the update in breast cancer staging that is coming with AJCC 9.
  8. Understand how triple negative breast cancer presents in our area, as well as Africa and the Middle East.
  9. Describe genetically driven cancers and what the recommendations are in the age of double-digit panels and expanded access.
  10. Be aware of the open clinical trials in breast cancer.
